Signs and Symptoms of Brake Issues

• It’s been over 12,000 miles or 12 months since your last brake inspection (whichever comes first).
• You’ve passed the manufacturer’s recommended interval for brake fluid changes.
• The brake warning light on your dashboard won’t turn off.
• You hear grinding or squealing noises when you hit the brakes.
• Your car pulls to one side when you brake.
• It takes longer to stop than usual when you press the brake pedal.
• Your brake pedal feels soft, spongy, or unresponsive.
• Your brake pedal sinks to the floor, or you need extra pressure to get any response.

Our Seattle Brake Service and Inspection

During your service appointment, our expert mobile mechanics will check the following:

• Front and rear brake pad wear and condition
• Rotor wear measurement
• Drum wear and condition
• Brake fluid level and contamination test
• Parking brake (E-brake) inspection

Once we’ve completed this process, we’ll let you know if any of the following services are needed:

• Installing new brake pads or shoes
• Resurfacing (if possible) or replacing brake rotors or drums
• Changing brake fluid and bleeding the brakes
• Replacing brake lines, hoses, or other key brake components

Brake Fluid Change

Over time, brake fluid can become contaminated by moisture, reducing its effectiveness and leading to corrosion inside your braking system. During our brake service, we’ll perform a strip dip test to check for contamination and let you know if it’s time for a fluid change.

Brake Bleeding

If your brake fluid level has dropped or you’ve had any work done on the brake system, air may have entered the lines. This trapped air causes that spongy brake feel, and it needs to be bled out for your brakes to work correctly. Our mechanics will perform pressure or vacuum brake bleeding to ensure all air is removed from the system.
